ThurstonTalk’s Weekend Event Calendar For Olympia

Smart folk hit the pumpkin patch earlier this week and took care of the “end of summer” final yard work projects.  But, if you are like me, you are frantically looking for rain boots, umbrellas and trying to figure out how to stay dry during Saturday’s football and soccer games.  As my good friend, Stephanie says empathetically, “embrace your imperfections.”  Welcome fall – rain or shine.

ThurstonTalk compiles indoor and outdoor events happening this weekend in Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater and the surrounding areas.  Here are some highlights.

  • The Washington Center brings National Geographic Live to Olympia on Friday at 7:30 pm.  Read about this month’s shows here.
  • Olympia Family Theater’s production of Go, Dog. Go! opens at The Washington Center for the Performing Arts this weekend.  Show times are Friday at 7:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 pm.
  • The razor clam digging season kicks off on Saturday at coastal beaches.  Grab your waders and rain jacket and head to the ocean.
  • Bring your tween or teen indoors on Saturday at 1:00 pm to the WET Science Center for a great workshop titled “Get Out of My Hair – Toxins In Personal Care.”
  • The Washington Center is busy this weekend.  Catch the Olympia Symphony Orchestra’s 60th anniversary celebration concert at 7:00 pm on Sunday.
  • Stream Team predicts this to be the last weekend to watch the salmon migration.  Head to Tumwater Falls Park.
  • Looking for additional fall activities?  Check out our posts about pumpkin patches, leaf journals, and apples.
