Playing in their hometown, the North Thurston High School volleyball team looked comfortable in the face of adversity during the first two rounds of the 3A state volleyball tournament at Saint Martins University Friday. After defeating Shorewood High School 3-1 in the first round of the tournament, the Rams defeated Columbia River High School 3-2 to advance to the state semi-finals. If North Thurston wins their 1:30 p.m. game against Southridge High School, the Rams will advance to the state final match against either Prarie High School or Holy Names Academy at 8:15 p.m.
