The number of candidates the Lacey City Council will interview for the vacant position on the Lacey Council may dwindle from the 11 accepted candidates down to a handful.

After its January 13 meeting, the council will meet in executive session to narrow down the list.   Mayor Tom Nelson refused to say how many would be on the list,  but indicated it could be all 11 or down to 2 or 3.   The common wisdom is the list may be narrowed down to 4 or 5.

Lacey city staff also gave the council an evaluation sheet, which they can use to note the qualities needed for the position.  Councilmembers may use it as a guideline.

Interviews will be conducted on January 20.
