This past week, leaders from Providence Centralia Hospital and the Medical Group connected with representatives from local government in both Thurston and Lewis counties, business and civic leaders, and those from across the health care spectrum for community dialogues to discuss health-related topics.
The groups in each county were asked two questions:
- What are the most important issues that need to be addressed to improve the health of our community?
- How can Providence Swedish best collaborate with you, our community partners, to help address these health needs?
“We appreciate the trust in our community to provide their health, and we will continue to strengthen our relationship with our community partners,” said Providence Swedish South Puget Sound Chief Executive Darin Goss. “These dialogue sessions help us focus our efforts as we plan for the future.”
Leaders from Centralia Hospital and the Medical Group served as table facilitators to listen and document the open and honest feedback to help determine Providence Swedish’s investments in the community and how they can improve.
“Everyone at the tables really appreciated the opportunity to gather together,” said Dr. Bob Mohrbacher, Centralia College president. “The college values our ongoing relationship with Providence and this event was especially good to collaborate and hear from a lot of different voices in the community.”
During the next few months, Providence Swedish will analyze the feedback, and continue dialogue with community partners to best determine its top health priorities. A follow-up meeting with community partners in each county is scheduled for this fall.
