Visual artist Anna McKee will share slides of her artwork and stories of her travels with climate scientists to glaciers in the Pacific Northwest and Antarctica. McKee will be joined by Bradley Markle, PhD candidate in glaciology at the University of Washington who will share photos and stories of his field research and ice core science.  It is the last of a four-part series of talks by local artists to celebrate Olympia’s coming Spring Arts Walk.

McKee searches for patterns in the landscape that reveal stories about geologic and cultural change. For her current project, Deep Ice, Deep Time, she traveled to remote field research camps in Antarctica and the Northwest. The artwork for the project has been included in several regional and traveling exhibitions with support by the National Science Foundation and 4Culture. McKee lives and works in Seattle. Her website is http://annamckee.com.
