Crush Me, Squeeze Me, Make Me Wine at the Beach Festival

Westport Winery will host its annual Crush Me, Squeeze Me, Make Me Wine at the Beach Festival on Sunday, October 25 from noon to 4 p.m. As is the tradition the winery will provide barrels of grapes for guests of all ages to stomp with their bare feet as an example of historic winemaking.

To keep the festivities in the beach theme, Hawaiian musician Elias Kauhane will be playing throughout the afternoon along with guest hula dancers, including winery co-owner Kim Roberts. Roberts learned hula as part of the research for her third Maui murder mystery,Hamau Side.

This event is free to attend and open to all ages. Aloha shirts and muu muus are optional as guests are encouraged to join the party.

The Backstage Winemaker’s Tour with Director of Winemaking and COO Dana Roberts will begin at 1 p.m. (as it does every Saturday and Sunday). This is the best time of year to join Dana in the cellar as the most exciting part of production is in full swing.
