Bed & Breakfast in Olympia to Host First Annual Mid-Summer Music Market

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or repeat customer, clear your calendar for July 13, 2024. This is when The Marie Bed & Breakfast kicks off their first annual Mid-Summer Music Market with an afternoon of amazing free, family-friendly fun.

At the Music Market, you’ll find vendors galore from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be live music from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and food trucks for snacks or an early, al fresco dinner. Follow The Marie Bed & Breakfast on Facebook and Instagram for updates, posted vendor lists, participating food trucks and more.

Taking the stage will be Almost Blue from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Almost Blue is a skilled ensemble who specialize in performing jazz standards and blues classics. The Joe David Band will entertain from 5p.m. to 6 p.m. They bring a soulful sound that’s perfectly in tune with balmy summer evenings spent with friends and family.

While visiting, don’t forget to stroll over to the Saturday Market at the West Central Park from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. With farm fresh food and flowers, crafts, food trucks and activities for kids, it’s the perfect pairing. On July 13, they offer live music from Ham and Cheese Sandwich and Jess and Jer as well as a variety of local vendors.

Olympia B&B Offers Same-Day Bookings

Starting July 1, 2024, The Marie Bed & Breakfast will begin offering same day bookings, with a cut-off time of 7 p.m. In-laws show up unexpectedly? Painting your living room and want to avoid the fumes? Need a recuperative staycation after your vacation? Leaving the kids home with your spouse for some me time? The Marie Bed & Breakfast in Olympia has you covered because their staff understands just how chaotic summer can get.

Innkeeper Emily Dunn says they’ve been working hard on new ways to make each stay special, unique and stress-free. “We get calls all the time for same day booking but since we do such a gourmet breakfast and accommodate any allergies or restrictions, we’ve had to turn them down in the past,” says Dunn. “Same day bookings made it difficult to give the guests the full experience but not anymore and you can still enjoy homemade goodies whenever you want.”

You can reserve your room(s), space permitting, online, at their 123 Cushing Street NW location or by calling 360.915.8039. Also opening July 1 is their on-site refreshment center. This 24-hour spot allows guests access to a microwave and refreshments whenever they please, explains Dunn.

The refreshment center will be stocked with sparkling water, juice, tea, coffee and fresh, homemade seasonal pastries.

Visit Olympia’s Westside: A Walkable Summertime Dream

The Saturday Market at the West Central Park isn’t the only walkable activity nearby. Pick up breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner at The Park Side Café. Their plant-based menu has something for everyone from coffee and pastries to multi-course meals either dine-in or to-go. Then head upstairs and explore culinary goodies, gadgets and kitchen gizmos at The Rolling Pin. Whatever your foodie passion, their experts are sure to find exactly what you need.

The Food Truck Court is home to global flavors year-round. Order a fan favorite or try something new. Then stroll West Central Park and their handy calendar of events. The Park is maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers who’ve helped it grow into a green hub that inspires walking in the neighborhood, shared bounty from edible fruit trees and raised vegetable beds, free summer concerts and movies in a sunny open plaza for picnic lunches or chess games.

If your stay includes a Friday night, the nearby Saturday Market at The West Central Park is in full swing from May 4, 2024, through September 28. Check out each day’s schedule of vendors, entertainment and themes.
