The Evergreen State College announced it will host two virtual graduation ceremonies, one as planned on June 12, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. and the other June 13 at 10:00 a.m. This decision was made after a call for a statewide general strike and march by Black Lives Matter in Seattle and across the state.
Graduating students were surveyed about postponing the ceremony and the replies were divided.
Each of the virtual graduation ceremonies will include remarks from commencement speakers, honorees and presentation of the 895 graduating students from Evergreen’s undergraduate and graduate programs.
