Basketball season has arrived, and Friday night saw the renewal of one of the best hardwood rivalries in the entire state. Thanks to scoring from both inside and out, the Bears of Olympia High School were able to pull away from their cross-town rivals, the Capital Cougars, by a final score 69-49 at OHS. Olympia used a big second half to pull away from the Cougars, who saw their shots hit the iron instead of the net in the third and fourth quarters. Despite being in different leagues and
classifications, the two teams play each other annually to keep the bitter and hard-fought rivalry alive.
