In the fall of 1942, the Women’s Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron (WAFS) was formed to help alleviate the pilot shortage the U.S. Army Air Corps had been experiencing since the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The play, The Originals, focuses on the lives of the first women to fly for the United States military during World War II. Set against the backdrop of America at war in the 1940s, it is a women’s story that features a love of flying, a love of country and the sacred bond of friendship. The Originals is a poetic retelling of a history that has been all but forgotten – inspired by real events, real women and the real history that they made.

** The Originals is being performed as a Fundraiser for the Olympic Flight Museum – a 501(c)3 Not-For-Profit organization. All proceeds from the play will go to help support the museum and its year round operations. Performances October 18 and 19 at 7:00 p.m. Matinee Sunday October 20 at 2:00 p.m.
