Special Naturalization Ceremony

The Timberland Regional Library (TRL) invites everyone to join the celebration, as a group of soon-to-be United States citizens take the oath of naturalization on Tuesday, August 25. Official check-in starts at 1:30 p.m.; the ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. at the Minnaert Performing Arts Center, 2011 Mottman Road SW, on the campus of South Puget Sound Community College.

Congressman Denny Heck will offer brief remarks and TRL Director Cheryl Heywood will share her experiences as a naturalized citizen.  Library staff members from the Olympia Timberland Library will be on hand to help people sign up for library cards. They will show and demonstrate library resources for English language instruction, practice citizenship tests and other valuable tools for new citizens and others who may be preparing for naturalization. There will also be activities for children.
