Prairie Restoration at Cavness Ranch

Join the Center for Natural Lands Management’s South Sound Prairies Program for a day of prairie restoration. We will be working at Cavness Ranch, one of CNLM’s south sound preserves to help convert an old tree farm back into native bunch grass prairie. We need volunteer help to build bonfires of downed fir trees in preparation for next years restoration actions. Volunteers will get to see how we have converted a similar area into prairie habitat, and if interested will be able to return to this site to see how the conversion from tree farm to prairie progresses over time.
This project is family friendly for children who are familiar with fire safety and working around bonfires.
