You know it’s special when the Olympia Timberland Library opens on a Sunday. And special it will be when two wildly popular cartoonists, Ben Hatke and Victoria Jamieson come to visit, Sunday, September 27 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Author and artist Hatke will stop in Olympia as part of a national book tour promoting his new graphic novel “Little Robot.” Jamieson is the author of “Roller Girl,” a new and already popular graphic novel about a 12-year old girl who falls love with roller derby.
Schedule:
1 to 1:45 p.m. – Comic Book Readers’ Theatre with Frank Hussey of Danger Room Comics
1:45 to 3:15 p.m. – Hatke and Jamieson talk about the writing and drawing life
3:14 to 4 p.m. – Book signing and mingling
Children who want to dress up will find lots of costume ideas in Hatke’s and Jamieson’s books: “Zita the Spacegirl,” “Julia’s House for Lost Creatures,” “Little Robot,” and “Roller Girl.” All costumes are welcome.
