Our first presentation for 2017 in our series of free noon hour monthly history talks at Tumwater’s historic Schmidt House is Thursday, January 19th. Our special guest this month is local historian Lanny Weaver. She’ll be highlighting history close to home with examples of neighborhood histories and how you can make your own research project where you live. Lanny has done a lot of work through the years with both professional historians and amateurs who have an interest and passion for history close to home. We think she will inspire you to begin your own history project touching upon aspects of history that perhaps few have looked into before.
These talks are free, although donations are gratefully accepted to keep this series going strong. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. on a first come, first seated basis and the doors close when the house reaches capacity. Our thanks to the City of Tumwater and TCTV local cable TV on the Tumwater channel 26 on Comcast, for their help. Each of our illustrated talks are video recorded for future release on that channel.
