From book to stage, Seattle’s talented Book-it Repertory theater will perform one FREE show of “Last Stop on Market Street”, written by this year’s Lacey Loves to Read featured author, Matt de la Pena.

Catch a free ride to the event with any connecting Intercity Transit bus, simply by saying “Lacey Loves to Read”. IT will also have an “off-duty” bus on the premises for some family read-alouds on the bus!

Scholastic books will have a small book sales area set up as well.

Story Summary: CJ doesn’t understand why he and his grandmother–abuela–have to take the bus after church and not drive a car like everyone else. On the bus he asks why he doesn’t have an iPod to listen to like the other passengers, With each question about what he does not have, CJ’s grandmother tells him what he does have. With abuela’s help. CJ is able to see the beauty in the world around him and appreciate the things he has.
