Less than 10% of of high-school aged girls and only 16% of high school-aged boys attend school in rural Togo, West Africa where students must walk up to 10 miles to attend school. Alaffia (a fair trade body care organization based in Olympia & Togo) collects used bicycles to provide transportation for Togolese students, empowering them to pursue an education and gain the skills necessary to rise out of poverty. Donate used adult bikes and bike parts to Ralph’s Thriftway Saturday, August 29 10AM-2PM.
