Happy September! After a busy and amazing summer, it’s hard to believe we are heading into BACK to School season already. As some of us get excited for cozy sweaters, soup, and slowing down, some of us are hanging on to the last blasts of sunshine and summer.
We are looking forward to so many things about back to school, and we’re also excited to invite you to come meet our team and see the impact of our programs through our Pub Night events! Connect with Club House, & Tumwater Community Schools, and celebrate supporting students and families, and win amazing door prizes! This series of events is free and open to the public.
Our next one is on September 8 at 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. featuring TOGETHER! Club House at the Puget Sound Taps. Come in for a snack on us or grab a drink while you meet our Club House team, hear stories of the impact of our work and make your gift in support of students & families. We also wanted to announce our big raffle prize! With each donation of $50 or more for Pub Nights between September 1 and November 11 qualifies for one entry. The winner is chosen at random. Stay subject to availability. Travel not included. Book by 12/31/23 for travel in 2024.
Fall is also a time to reflect. Looking back on the incredible (and incredibly busy) summer TOGETHER!, TOGETHER! Club House and The Bridge Music Project hosted a listening party on August 1 at City of Olympia’s Harbor House. It was a wonderful showcase featuring the work of Club House middle school students who participated in an annual workshop with The Bridge to use music and writing as tools to deal with life’s challenges. Our students love music, and it is a creative outlet to express themselves and it was a fun event to experience! Click this link to listen to the songs!
Our Board President Melvin J. Fields visited our Club House program this summer to see our Chinook Middle School, Nisqually Middle School, Lydia Hawk Elementary School, and Pleasant Glade Elementary programs as well as participate in a field trip to Inspiring Kids Preserve with Puget Sound Estuarium! Melvin enjoyed spending time with the students, and it was a fantastic way to find out about what we do for students & families. Club House supports students not just in their academic journey but also their social emotional learning as well as meeting basic needs, all in a positive, fun environment.
TOGETHER!’s Tumwater Community Schools brought back a crowd favorite this summer: Back to Basics! At our June and August events, we served over 300 students and families with free sports physicals, vaccinations, haircuts, and other resource at NO COST to families! Thank you to Providence Medical Group, Thurston County Public Health, Thurston County Medical Reserve Corps, Sea Mar Community Health Centers and so many others for your support and partnership to bring these back post-pandemic, and we look forward to seeing you all next summer.
Finally, to cap off our summer, our fifth Annual TOGETHER Fore Kids Golf Tournament presented by Tumwater Education Association on August 24 was a fun and sold out event!
