The Washington Center continues the 22-23 Season with Comedy Underground, The Center Salon and Black Box Jazz.

May 18 at 7:30 p.m. Comedy Underground is back to make you laugh. This time we welcome Orin Levin, stand-up comedian from the Bay area, currently based out of Los Angles in a room with unfortunate carpeting. Orin has appeared on the “Late Late Show with James Corden,” was named “New Face” at the 2022 Just for Laughs Comedy Festival. He has appeared at New York Comedy Festival and was a finalist at the 2021 San Francisco International Comedy Competition. Recommended for ages 18+.

May 19 at 7:30 p.m. The Center Salon Are you ready to experience a one-of-a-kind artistic event? Join us for the 6th Annual Salon. This popular event is unlike any other, offering a rare opportunity to interact with poets, authors, musicians, and artists. Hosted by Jill Barnes, the Salon provides an exclusive inner circle experience. Our talented performers, including Robyn Chance, Carolyn Fry, Luz Gaxiola, Jennifer Hermann, Lennée Reid, Daven Tillinghast, Jana Tyrrell, Christina Vega, and Bryan Willis, will captivate you with their unique talents and diverse backgrounds.

Get lost in Robyn Chance’s emotive paintings, be entertained by Luz Gaxiola’s comedic clowning, and inspired by the spoken word poetry of Lennée Reid. Don’t miss this chance to join the inner circle and experience the beauty of the arts.

May 26 at 8 p.m. Black Box Jazz: David Joyner and Jared Hall Quartet is a must-see for music lovers in the Pacific Northwest. Their exceptional talent and impressive accomplishments are undeniable, with Joyner’s mastery of the piano and Hall’s prowess on the trumpet combining to create a sound that is both unique and captivating.

David Lee Joyner’s experience as a performer and educator, as well as his extensive knowledge of jazz and popular music, makes him a true authority in the field. His ability to weave together various genres and styles, while also offering insightful commentary and anecdotes, ensures that audiences are not only entertained but also educated.

Jared Hall’s award-winning musicianship and collaborations with jazz legends such as Paquito D’Rivera and Arturo Sandoval make him a true standout in the Pacific Northwest jazz scene. His energetic and virtuosic trumpet playing is sure to impress audiences of all ages.
