Downtown Olympia’s Third Thursdays are a community celebration of local culture, art, food, music, and unique shopping experiences. Whether you make it a date night, a fun outing with friends or a family adventure, there is so much to discover in our vibrant community.

The summer Third Thursdays — May through September — will include block parties featuring live music and beverages from Northwest Beerwerks. The May 16 block party, located in the US Bank parking lot on the corner of 4th and Washington, will run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will open with music by Lakota Dorris, followed by Broadway Olympia Productions and New Born Babies. Our Table is the featured restaurant at the party and they’ll be serving up fresh food sourced from local farms.

Unique to the May 16 Third Thursday is the Friends Night Out fundraiser. Purchase a $15 passport and then visit the list of participating businesses who will stamp your passport and give you a unique gift. Proceeds from the sale of the passports will go to Community Youth Services, a nonprofit located downtown Olympia that provides an array of services to help a wide range of youth: those in foster care, those who need help finishing their educations or getting a job or finding a safe place to live, and those seeking meaningful ways to connect with society in a positive way.

Purchase passports online or on May 16 at the Olympia Downtown Alliance booth — set up from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. — in the US Bank parking lot located with the list of participating businesses and a special event bag the Olympia Downtown Alliance information booth. Every “Passport” also comes with a raffle entry for a prize package of gift certificates of participating retailers. Shoppers can earn more tickets with purchases at participating retailers.  Passports are limited – only 250 available and are $15 each. Pick up your pre-purchased Passports and shopping bags at The Popinjay starting at 10 a.m, 414 Capitol Way S.
