“My children enjoy going to the dentist, which says a lot about Cooper Moss,” shares Helena Rice. Her family members have been patients of Cooper Moss Advanced Dentistry for over 15 years. “The entire staff always makes us feel comfortable,” adds Rice. When kids don’t mind going to the dentist and instead, look forward to it, it’s certain Cooper Moss is doing something right.

Cooper Moss Advanced Dentistry (previously Cooper Dental Arts Center), is one of the oldest dental practices in Olympia, having served Thurston County patients since the 1980s. They have been in their current location on 4th Avenue in downtown Olympia since 2001, and all four dentists at Cooper Moss are Washington natives. Dr. Bruce Cooper hails from Kent and Dr. Joseph Moss is a lifelong Lacey resident and graduate of Timberline High School and Saint Martin’s University. Dr. Paul Isaacson is originally from Longview yet has called Olympia home for over 20 years. The newest member of the team, Dr. Tyler Tebay, was raised in Pasco, Washington and is also a graduate of Saint Martin’s University. The fact that they are all Washington natives is just one of the many unique qualities that defines this talented group.

Susan Wallace, a long-time employee of Cooper Moss shares, “This is an amazing place to work and the doctors are very caring of the staff and patients alike.” Susan and colleague Magen Houle are two of the smiling faces that greet you when you walk into the warm and friendly offices of Cooper Moss Advanced Dentistry. When you arrive, you are immediately put at ease. What lies beyond the comfortable reception area, however, are highly trained dental professionals with access to the very latest technology available today.

“As the son of an engineer, I am very interested in  the cutting-edge clinical innovations that add to patient care,” explains Dr. Cooper. At Cooper Moss, they like to use the phrase “high tech, high touch” to explain how all the dentists are trained to work efficiently with the greatest advances in clinical and personalized patient care. Cooper Moss was the first dental office in Thurston County to use a CAD CAM system allowing them to digitally scan teeth and mill a crown right in the office. Approximately fifty percent of crowns can be done from start to finish in one day. This saves the patient time and money. Digital x-rays increase accuracy and reduce patients’ exposure to unnecessary radiation by up to 75 percent.

Cooper Moss Advanced Dentistry is a full-service family dental office, seeing patients ranging from young children to seniors and everyone in between. Focused on preventative and restorative dentistry, the dentists are committed to helping you maintain a healthy smile. “We are not a corporate practice,” explains Dr. Cooper. “We live and work together here in Thurston County and invest in the latest training for ourselves and our staff.”

Unlike many dental practices that leave the insurance processing to the patient, the staff at Cooper Moss Dentistry take care of this for you as well, alleviating the complex and often confusing claims process. Almost unheard of in the world of family dentistry, they are also on-call 24/7. If you have a dental emergency and require assistance, a call to the office will route you to a live person, not a voice mail, who will then reach the on-call dentist.

One might think that, with the group’s personal service, they’d also have higher than average fees. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The technology available makes the care they offer both more efficient and cost effective. “We work with many dental plans,” explains Dr. Cooper, noting that they strive to work within the family budget while not sacrificing quality of care.

The dentists at Cooper Moss Dentistry are community-minded and contribute consistently to the place they call home. The practice supports the Union Gospel Mission Dental Clinic through monetary donations and also provides no cost dental care to our area’s most vulnerable residents who seek care at the Mission. As noted on the Union Gospel Mission website, “It’s hard to imagine living with the pain of an abscessed tooth for a month or more because you can’t afford a visit to the dentist.” These patients are granted relief and hope for their future with no cost dental care provided by the volunteer dentists at the clinic, as well as dentists who offer them no-cost care in their private offices, including Drs. Cooper, Isaacson, Moss and Tebay.

The dentists also support numerous other community organizations including dental health care month at the Hands On Children’s MuseumBoys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County, Drexel HouseThurston County Food Bank, North Thurston Education Foundation and Providence St. Peter Foundation, to name a few.
