The Lacey Historical Museum will host the 3rd Annual “A Midsummer’s Ice Cream” event  Friday, July 7, 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at 829 Lacey Street SE. Guests will enjoy free ice cream (while supplies last) and a variety of activities and entertainment. The event is part of Lacey Days, a Lacey South Sound Chamber and City of Lacey promotion.

This free, fun-filled, and educational evening, hosted by the Lacey Historical Commission, includes free ice cream bars, sandwiches, and cones donated by Costco; garden tours; historic games; free kids craft stations sponsored by Michael’s; and the Lacey Fire Department’s antique 1945 Seagraves fire engine. Capital Blend, a singing quartet will provide entertainment and guests can also tour the historical Lacey museum.

“To close out Lacey’s 50th anniversary celebration, we will pay tribute to 1966, the year of incorporation,” said Museum Curator, Erin Quinn Valcho. “Kids and adults alike will enjoy checking out a 1960’s Mustang, playing groovy games of the era, and exploring vintage toys. Rumor even has it that a pop culture icon from 1966 will be there!”

The museum, located in the Lacey Historical Neighborhood at 829 Lacey Street SE, is open Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and by appointment by calling 360- 438-0209.

Lacey Days is a two-week promotion from June 24-July 8, featuring community events and activities. For details, visit the Lacey Days website.
