Port Commissioners (as pictured) Jeff Davis, George L. Barner, Jr. and Bill McGregor thanked Executive Director Ed Galligan and all Port staff for their hard work and dedication in achieving this distinguished award.

Port of Olympia is honored to be recognized as “Port of the Year 2013” by the Washington Public Ports Association.  This acknowledgement by all the major ports in our state confirms that our initiatives and programs are fulfilling the state’s mission for public ports.

The Port received the award based on job growth driven by the Marine Terminal, continuing record growth in revenue, investments in environmental stewardship, and expanded public participation and outreach.

The award was presented to the Commission at the annual meeting of the Washington Public Ports Association Board of Trustees on November 22.  The association represents 69 of the 75 public ports in Washington State.
