Capital Playhouse is pleased to announce that we have named our new Artistic Director, Ms. Heidi Fredericks. Heidi has been a member of Capital Playhouse staff for many years and the driving force and producer behind the Students on Stage program in our local schools. Before she was employed by the Playhouse she starred in the first Kids at Play summer production Guys and Dolls as Miss. Adelade. She was among the first graduates of the Kids at Play program. Her dedication to Capital Playhouse’s youth enrichment programs has been a major factor in their success.
Ms. Fredericks studied at The Boston Conservatory, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Her credits include Capital Playhouse’s Season in a Box and Kids at Play, Olympia Little Theater, Theatre Artists Olympia, Utah Musical Theater, University of Minnesota graduate program, Theater in the Round, Harlequin Productions, Tacoma Actors Guild, Northwest Playwright’s Alliance, and Masterworks Choral Ensemble. Beyond her practical skills, knowledge and formidable resume, Ms. Fredericks brings an infectious enthusiasm and love for stage craft to her role as Artistic Director at Capital Playhouse.
