2013 Alliance Northwest Conference Announces New Keynote Speaker

March 5, 2013 – Washington Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is pleased to announce a new luncheon keynote speaker for the 2013 Alliance Northwest Conference: James Nagle, attorney at law at Oles Morrison.  The topic of his keynote address will be Federal Contracts: The Year in Review: A Review of Major Statutory, Regulatory, Case Law and Other Developments, including sequestration and budget reductions.

Jim is a frequent lecturer on federal government contracts and construction law. He teaches a course on Government Contract Law on behalf of George Washington University, and has taught Government Contracts for the University of Washington and Seattle University. He has extensive experience including working with supply, services, international, major systems, and construction contracts. Prior to joining Oles Morrison, he served as chief of the Logistics and Contract Law Branch of the Department of the Army staff. He also served as a trial team chief in the Army’s Contract Appeals Division.

Alliance Northwest, which takes place on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm in the Americraft Showplace Exhibition & Conference Center at the Puyallup Fair & Events Center, 110 – 9th Ave SW, Puyallup WA 98372, is the premier government-to-business networking event of the year in the Pacific Northwest. Sponsored by URS and Washington River Protection Solutions, Alliance NW will attract over 700 small businesses, prime contractors and government agencies for a full day focused on relationship building. Attendees will also have access to:

  • High quality training sessions on federal procurement
  • Match-making sessions between potential buyers and sellers
  • Networking opportunities at the on-site tradeshow.
  • Prime contractors and government agencies have an opportunity to connect with hundreds of qualified small businesses and provide information on procurement opportunities and processes.

Calvin Goings, Assistant Associate Administrator for the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) and former Washington State Senator, will provide the conference opening address. In addition to the activities at Alliance NW, there is a sub-contracting plan workshop being held on March 13 at Highline Community College.
