Doctor Of Traditional Chinese Medicine To Speak At Lacey Library

Dr. Heng Li, M.D., Ph.D of the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine will be at the Lacey Timberland Library on Saturday, March 9 from 10:30 a.m. to noon to discuss Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and how it works together with Western medicine. He will also describe how acupuncture works and explain tuina (a type of massage). A Q and A session will follow.

Dr. Li is Assistant Director and Associate Professor at the China Shanghai International Acupuncture and Moxibustion Training Center at the Shanghai University. He is also Chief Doctor in the Acupuncture and Tuina Department of the Municipal Clinic Hua Dong Hospital.

Dr. Li’s mission is to spread TCM knowledge to the West, to integrate TCM with Western medicine, and to relieve suffering of patients by TCM. He has treated numerous patients since 1997, taught more than 2,000 international students since 2000 and presented TCM seminars in Thailand, the UK, France, Australia, Germany, Netherlands, Norway and the U.S. He is currently visiting at Saint Martin’s University, which has a relationship with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
