Get your hands in the dirt, literally, at the library. In a hands-on workshop, “Successful Starts for Your Garden,” Caitlin Moore will demonstrate how to start seeds in your home and get a head start on the growing season. The workshop will be held at the Lacey Timberland Library on Monday, March 4 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Ms. Moore will discuss basic planting, lighting, watering, fertilizer, and how to make a greenhouse small enough for apartment dwellers. Product resource lists will be provided.

Moore is the co-director of the Olympia Seed Exchange, a grassroots organization that provides seeds and information to the community. She’s also the founder of Urban Food Warrior, a whole-systems organic gardening education company.

The Lacey Timberland Library is located at 500 College Street SE. For more information, contact the library at (360) 491-3860 or visit www.TRL.org.
