Thurston County Swimmers Get Olympic Experience At WIAA State Swim Meet

The King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way is considered to be one of the best swimming and diving facilities in the world, as evidence by it holding the U.S.A. Olympic trials prior to the London Olympics. On Friday, Feb. 15, swimmers from Thurston County got to experience the facility for itself, as it was the sight for the WIAA State Swimming Championships for 2A, 3A and 4A athletes.  Swimmers and divers from Capital, North Thurston, River Ridge, Timberline, and Olympia High School competed throughout the day, with several athletes qualifying for the finals on Saturday, Feb. 16.

North Thurston High School, 200 Freestyle Relay, scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

2A:

Logan Field, River Ridge High School, 200 freestyle, scheduled for 10 a.m.

Phillip Reece, Capital High School, 100 yard free style, scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

Capital High School, 200 yard free style relay, scheduled for 10 a.m.
