Whatever the weather, and sometimes it’s frightful, every year around the holidays the staff of KXXO Mixx 96.1 radio and a crew of intrepid volunteers spend a day out on the street collecting toys and cash for families in need of extra assistance.
Broadcasting live from outside their studios at the corner of State and Washington streets in downtown Olympia, KXXO Mixx 96.1 FM is holding its “Wrapping up the Holidays” Toy & Fund Drive Friday, December 20 from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M.
The station is stressing cash donations this year as O Bee Credit Union will match the first $2,500 received, with The Roof Doctor matching the next $2000, and Van Dorm Realty, the Law Offices of Althauser Rayan Abbarno, G&G Heating and Air Conditioning, and True Alignment Chiropractic matching further cash donations! However, new, unwrapped gifts are always welcome.

KXXO Mixx 96.1 handles all of the administrative costs so that every dollar donated goes directly to gifts for the families served. Recipient groups are a part of “Holiday Connections,” a consortium of area non-profits including Community Youth Services, Family Support Center, Family Education and Support Services, Behavioral Health Resources, Evergreen Vista, Senior Services of South Sound, YMCA Children’s Services, and Thurston County Food Bank.
