The year-long centennial celebration of the church’s federation culminates on Sunday, December 4 with a luncheon at noon. The church chapel and sanctuary will be decorated for the Advent – Christmas season. The service is on the second Sunday of Advent featuring a cantata from the 40-voice church choir, “A Festival of Lessons and Carols” by Hal Hopson, accompanied by a chamber orchestra, the church’s bell choir and organ. The chamber ensemble will accompany the choir; members are Diana McQuarrie, flute; Jim Balz, violin; Judith Martin, cello; Barbara Boyd, percussion. Instrumental soloists are Dan Lundberg (trumpet) and Ian Edlund (cello). The bell choir is directed by Lynne Palmer. The choir is directed by Dee Morton.

Advent worship services are based on the book, “The Redemption of Scrooge” and on Dec. 4, the worship and sermon focus will be “The Remembrance of Christmas Past: Hope from Heartbreak.”

The church’s federation was signed on December 6, 1916.
