Christmas season is filled with bustle and noise as people are passing, shoppers rush home with their treasures, and kids play out in the snow (or rain). But if you turn your ears away from the hustle and bustle of the streets, shops and playgrounds, you can experience another side of Christmas.

In the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the Shelton Performing Arts Center on Tuesday night, December 15th, at 7:00 PM, twenty women from the Puget Sound region will be singing Christmas carols for you and your family. These have been lovingly arranged by composers of worldwide fame such as Benjamin Britten, John Rutter, and Z Randal Stroope. Carols like What Child Is This, The Sussex Carol and Wexford Carol are simply part of the holidays. Women of Note vocal ensemble will share these English carols, along with songs of renown in the US like There Is No Rose of Such Virtue and Benedicamus Domino, as well as carols from other places, such as Canada’s Huron Carol.

This is a season of good-will, of celebration of the Christmas story, and a reason to unite a troubled world with a Christmas reminder of what life should really be about, even if just for one night, at one concert. If you’ve ever sung in a choir or dressed warmly to sally forth on a starry night in icy cold weather to sing at houses of friends, or if your idea of Christmas is a candle-lit hall with voices singing familiar carols, then clearly you will want to experience Songs of Joy! Women of Note have exactly that, just for you!
