The Celtic tradition embraces a deep connection to the rhythms of the natural world. The constant shifting and unfolding of the seasons offers invitations to attune our inner landscape to the world around us and receive both its gifts and challenges. Through this dynamic interaction with natural rhythms, we become more attuned to ourselves.
In this overnight retreat, beginning at 4:00 pm Friday, September 30 and ending at 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 1 we will explore the spiritual wisdom and invitations of the dark half of the year, Fall and Winter. Rooted in Celtic Spirituality, this retreat offers participants practices that open us to the sacred presence at the heart of all things, and nurture an attunement to nature’s rhythms as a model for spiritual wisdom and insights. Much of this retreat will be outdoors, so come ready for the weather.
Retreat Leader, Kara Markell is a spiritual companion and pastor. Her own spirituality is deeply rooted in the Celtic Christian tradition, in which the Earth is known as the Big Book of Wisdom and the original sanctuary. Kara has studied Celtic Spirituality with Jon Philip Newell and Christine Valters Paintner. She is the spiritual guide for Evergreen Wild Church in Kirkland, WA and pastor for a progressive and inclusive Christian Church.
$200 retreat fee includes three meals, a private sleeping room with shared bathrooms down the hall, and workshop materials and presentations by Retreat Leader, Kara Markell.
