Guest Artist: Mirabai discovered raqs sharqi at a young age, when she found a few curious articles in her mother’s dresser: two bras covered in shiny gold and silver coins, along with silky poofy pants. They were fabulous! For nearly three decades now, Mirabai has taught, performed and studied belly dance nationally and internationally. She is a multi-award winning artist. Her current projects are teaching a student troupe class out of West Seattle, and working with two long-time dance friends to create a professional dance troupe out of Olympia.
