Period Action Day nationally is October 8th when education and action about period poverty, the trouble many women and girls have affording pads or tampons if they are already pressed for income, takes place. Thurston County NOW asks for donations of menstrual hygiene products during this time and is assisted by co-sponsors Zonta of South Puget Sound, Soroptimists of Olympia, Mason County League of Women Voters and the Woman’s Club of Olympia. All pads and tampons are distributed to local providers serving those who need them (see flyer list). Donation basket daily during open store hours at

An outdoor drop off is planned for October 22 10 am-1pm in the lower parking lot of the downtown Twinstar Credit Union 1025 5th Ave SE, Olympia.
