The first installment of the year’s SPSCC Jazz Series highlights jazz musician Pablo Menendez and Mezcla, direct from Cuba. The ensemble is set to perform in the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts at South Puget Sound Community College on Sept. 18.

Menendez is founder and director of the quintet group, which has been active on the Cuban music scene for the past 30 years. Menendez leads vocals and guitar within the band along with both jazz veterans and new, young jazz musicians. The group’s unique blend of Afro-Carribean and Latin jazz music will be sure to convey the Cuban music environment.
