On Thursday, April 28, the City will hold a public open house to share findings of the West Bay Environmental Restoration Assessment. An overview of the study will be presented and a time reserved for questions. This event is co-sponsored by the Northwest Olympia Neighborhood Association.

The West Bay Environmental Restoration Assessment is a science-based analysis of Budd Inlet’s West Bay shoreline habitat from 5th Avenue north to the City limits that was completed at the end of February 2016. The study focused primarily on publicly owned properties. Shoreline enhancement concepts for private properties are also included. Partners on the project included the City of Olympia Public Works and Parks, Arts and Recreation Departments; the Port of Olympia; and the Squaxin Island Tribe. This study will inform future planning processes that affect the shoreline.
