The Olympia Historical Society and the Bigelow House Museum are recruiting for new volunteers! Want to get more involved in your community? Have an interest in history, gardening, marketing or fundraising? We need docents to give tours of Bigelow House Museum and the annual Historic Homes Tour, ambassadors to share the message of Olympia’s History with school and community groups, gardeners interested in recreating historic landscaping and orchards around Bigelow House, and people with diverse skills to lend their expertise in a variety of areas with the Olympia Historical Society.

Come to our FREE Volunteer Recruitment Event and meet other volunteers, take a tour of Bigelow House Museum, and find out how your particular talents might help us grow. You don’t need to be a trained historian to be a tour guide. All volunteers are given thorough in-person training, as well as plenty of written materials, and are then paired with an experienced volunteer until they are ready to solo. Energy, enthusiasm and the love for telling a good tale are all that are required!
