Live Music: Gypsy Folk Band Raven & Rose

National touring gypsy band, Raven & Rose will release their latest album at a concert on Friday September 23, 2016 from 9:00-11:30 PM at The 4th Avenue Tavern, 1210 4th Ave E, Olympia, WA 98501. The music is for all ages and tickets at the door are sliding scale $5-10. “People describe our music as ‘gypsy’ since our folk songs come from eastern European countries including Ukraine, Russia, Poland, and Romania — I like to think of it as musical vodka.” says Rosalie Crowe (violin).

Raven & Rose has returned to Olympia from their first cross-country music tour playing Eastern European folk songs on violin, guitar, trombone and accordion and are looking forward to playing music locally after and two months on the road. The diverse sound is lead by a husband and wife (Rosalie & Raven Crowe) duo with their friend Gabriel Surley on percussion to keep the rhythm moving. “Fans have told us- we are a DANCE band! I think we owe it to our smashing percussionist, Gabriel Surley, who doubles as independant musician. He is the most fun and creative original singer songwriter I know- we are honored to have him play with Raven & Rose.” Rosalie said.
