Best viewing from The Port Plaza in front of Anthony’s Restaurant
In the beloved Olympia holiday tradition, the parade’s theme for 2022 is “Jingle on the Waves”. This year the parade was opened to boats from outside the yacht club.
The lead boat will depart from the basin at 6:00 p.m. All boats will file in behind them and follow in single file through the parade course. The Judge’s boat, “In the Mood” will be docked in front of Anthony’s Homeport Restaurant on the port plaza dock.
The criteria the judges will use to score the boats are as follows: A) Theme, B) Originality, C) Light Placement, D) Overall Appearance, and E) Special Effects or Animation. The winners will be announced during the final leg of the parade on VHF channel 68. Stay tuned.
After passing the judge boat, the parade will continue north along the east side of Budd Inlet to Boston Harbor, then across to Cooper Point and return along the west shore past the Olympia Country Club and return to the OYC basin around 8:30 p.m
The best viewing in downtown Olympia will be from the port plaza deck in front of Anthony’s restaurant.
Starting around 5:30 Santa and Ms. Claus will be on the docks to hand out candy canes to the kids and Dancing Goats Coffee will be offering hot coffee and cocoa, while supplies last. Come and cheer for your favorite lighted ship.
