The City of Lacey will be offering a free historic walking tour of the oldest neighborhood in Lacey on Saturday, August 8, 2015. The tour will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Lacey Museum, 829 Lacey Street SE in Lacey and will end in the same location.

Lacey Museum Curator, Erin Quinn Valcho, and local historian, Shanna Stevenson, will be leading concurrent tours that highlight the fascinating history of influential Lacey women while walking through the historic neighborhood where they once lived, or still do. Several historic homes will be highlighted on the walk, including stops along Lacey and Bowker Streets, and 7th Avenue SE. Homes on the tour range from the oldest in Lacey to a mid-century modern gem.

Individuals, families, and groups are welcome to join the tour, although it is recommended for ages 14 to adult. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Walkers are advised to have appropriate gear for the weather and walking shoes. Bottled water will be provided.
