The best known education program SPSSEG offers is the Kennedy Creek Salmon Trail (the Trail). Located in Mason County, the Trail draws over 2,000 students and 3,000 community visitors every fall during the chum run in Kennedy Creek. The Trail, now in its 15th year, provides a unique educational experience to local school kids who travel from Pierce (population 819,743), Thurston (population 262,388), and Mason (population 60,497) Counties to learn about salmon.
