Join visiting guest instructor Ben Kahn from Port Townsend for a special canoe paddle making class this spring, generously sponsored by the Port of Olympia and the Linders-Plimpton Family.

April 5-7 (Friday-Sunday), 9am-4pm

-Learn how to shape a 2’x6’ piece of wood into a canoe paddle

-Use an assortment of tools to shape the wood: a bandsaw, block plane, spokeshave, spar gauge, draw knife, chisels and rasps

-Gain hands-on skills rooted in our region’s unique maritime woodworking traditions

-Leave with a beautiful and useful paddle for boating!

Well suited for students with some woodworking experience, or anyone with patience and the ability to follow multiple steps.
