A grant writing workshop for beginners offers hard skills, tips and wisdom.  According to philanthopy experts at The Foundation Center, the most frequent reasons foundations reject grant proposals are:
1. They don’t have enough funds to accept every request
2. The request falls outside of the funder’s giving interests
3. The applicant didn’t follow application guidelines
Reason #1 is the luck of the draw, but #2 and #3 can be mitigated by solid research, good writing, and knowing the significant tricks of the trade. Teaching these skills is the purpose of Grant Writing 101, at the Olympia Timberland Library, Friday, October 10 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Register for this free class online, by calling (360) 352-0595 or in person beginning Tuesday, September 30.
