An introduction to Buddhist meditation and its application in our daily life.

This retreat will introduce us to eight inspiring verses which comprise one of Buddhism’s most popular teachings, Eight Verses for Training the Mind. Each verse will show us how to transform our mind from our ordinary self-orientated perspective into the loving, courageous and wise heart of a Bodhisattva, a friend of the world. With each verse we’ll learn practical meditations that are powerful tools for overcoming our daily difficulties and pain. The main focus of the series will be on developing authentic love and compassion as a path to becoming the joyful, happy person we long to be. This retreat is based on Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book, Eight Steps to Happiness.
