Mandalas are symbols representing the universe that use principles of geometry and symmetry to focus attention. You can create a personal mandala using paper and embellishments at a workshop with Olympia artist and art instructor Ellen Miffitt at the Lacey Timberland Library on Saturday, March 29 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The workshop is free of charge and all basic materials will be provided, but Miffitt encourages participants to bring mementos such as photos, badges, ribbons and other keepsakes.
