NOVA Middle School will host Kathi Kearney, M.A. Ed for a free presentation and discussion about life in the asynchronous family for parents, teachers, counselors and others who work or live with highly capable/gifted learners.

In real life, how does such asynchrony affect the entire family? This presentation will explore some of the family ramifications of the asynchronous development of gifted children. Issues of asynchrony within the gifted child and within the family system; effects on siblings; effects on parenting; and asynchrony within the larger society will be explored and explained. Numerous case examples are used, and tips for surviving and thriving in the gifted asynchronous family will be provided.
