Evergreen to Offer NOAA Climate Change Lecture
“Understanding the Global Carbon Cycle, Climate Change and Ocean Acidification”

Understanding of the Earth’s carbon cycle and its intimate connection with climate and ocean acidification will be the featured lecture November 7 at 5 p.m. in Lecture Hall 3 at The Evergreen State College.
The impacts of human-caused changes on the global carbon cycle will be felt for centuries to millennia. Dr. Christopher Sabine will discuss how ocean acidification affects marine life, atmospheric carbon levels, and ultimately the global climate during this important lecture.
Dr. Sabine is Seattle director of the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
This event is sponsored by: Earth Matters: Geology and Chemistry, Ocean Life and Environmental Policy, and Practice of Sustainable Agriculture Academic Programs, the Evergreen Chemistry Club, and the Puget Sound Section of the American Chemical Society.
