Capital City Marathon Association Open House

Are you passionate about helping grow a community committed to health and wellness and looking for a meaningful way to contribute?

The Capital City Marathon Association (CCMA) is a vibrant all-volunteer organization that for 38 years has organized a multi-distance running event in Olympia that includes a marathon, half-marathon, 5-mile and 1.2-mile kids run. We also actively support and promote healthy living in a variety of other ways in our community.

As we gear up for our May 2019 event and plan for years beyond that, we are seeking people who share our interests in community, fitness, well-being and having fun to join us! (You need not be an accomplished athlete to be a part of our team.)

Our board members would enjoy talking to you about opportunities that exist within the organization to help coordinate the race and race-related events (individually or as part of a team). We are also looking for assistance with specific tasks such as water stops, course safety, community outreach, the Run Fair, food table, runner swag selection, awards and sponsors.

CCMA board members will hold an informal “open house” about these and other opportunities from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Olympia Center, Room 101, 222 Columbia St. N.W. A light brunch will be served.
