What’s wrong with how we vote. Are better elections possible? With the 2018 midterms behind us, it’s a great time to start improving the way America votes! Ranked choice voting, multi-member districts, and proportional representation are some of the reforms being discussed and implemented across the nation. Find out more and meet other local folks who want better elections. We will meet at 7:00 pm Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Olympia Unitarian Universalist Congregation (OUUC), 2315 Division Street NW, Olympia, WA. This is a nonpartisan gathering. Better elections are for all of us!
The event is organized by FairVoteThurston/Olympia and will provide information on how ranked choice voting works and some of the benefits it promises. We’ll also update you on the “Local Options Bill (HB2746), which could open the door for ranked choice voting in cities and counties across the state. In addition, we will look at how new voting initiatives fared this year in Maine, Memphis and British Columbia.
