Auction Fundraiser

Eagle View Christian School in Yelm is hosting its annual live and silent auction on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Doors open at 4:00 P.M. for the silent auction, with dinner at 6:00 P.M. and the live auction to follow. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the school office for $10 or at the door for $12, and the price includes the meal. The auction will have a “Fabulous Fifties” theme this year, and the dinner will feature a diner-style “blue plate special” of meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

Every year, in the months before the auction, the school’s teachers go around the community, procuring donations of items from local businesses. “We really appreciate the support we receive,” says kindergarten teacher Danielle Longnecker. “It is so wonderful to see how everyone comes together to make the auction a success.”

Families whose students attend the school also donate, giving items to the classroom baskets. Each class picks a theme for things to collect, creating packages of items to be purchased at the live auction. This year’s themes include “Country Living,” “Garden,” “Beach,” and “Date Night.” There is even a “Seahawks” basket!

All of the profits from the auction go to support the school. The auction is the biggest fundraiser each year, covering many of the school’s operational costs.
