Artesian Rumble Arkestra (ARA) began forming in the early 2000s; they are an eclectic stationary marching band from Olympia, Washington. ARA works to contribute its portable and mostly unamplified energy to local and not-so-local social and economic justice events. Most recently, ARA performed in Seattle for Honk! Fest West, a yearly music event that showcases more than 30 street bands from around the world for 4 days of fun, music, and parades. ARA’s music is influenced by jazz, pop, Balkan brass, Brazilian samba, traditional hymns, and classic rock tunes.
